Description: The Arts Council of Metropolitan Kansas City advances and supports the arts for the benefit of the entire Kansas City region.

Arts Council interns will gain valuable, hands-on experience in arts administration and nonprofit management. Arts Council events provide excellent networking opportunities with regional arts organizations and artists. Working at the Arts Council provides many opportunities to observe community processes and management of a variety of arts organizations. Interns will develop a working knowledge of Kansas City’s art community, while also learning typical office, clerical skills and business etiquette that will be applicable to any professional environment. Parking is provided, and upon the successful completion of the internship, the intern will receive a letter of recommendation.

The intern will assist and develop a working knowledge of the following areas:
• Grantmaking
• Event Management
• Fundraising & Donor recognition
• General Communications
• General Office & Administration Skills
• Program administration
Requirements
Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office, and have excellent written and oral communication skills. Database skills are a plus but not required. Candidate must be able to dedicate 20-25 hours to the internship and commit to the entire semester. Additionally, candidates must able to multi-task, prioritize, work independently, and collaborate with the team as needed.
