Associate Scientist

Overview: Performs a variety of laboratory procedures using established methods and techniques under general guidance. Conducts experiments, some moderately complex. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Possesses strong background in assay development and optimization. Has experience in immunological or bio-engineering research. Critically evaluates scientific literature and findings, designs and performs experiments and interprets data.

General Duties: This is a technical, wet bench laboratory position. Primary activities of the position entail bench-top analyses of innate, adaptive, or functional responses to an array of immuogens and the conduct of a variety of assay methods, including ELISA, ELISpot, FACS, and Luminex platforms.

Alternatively, for the person involved in biochemical research and development, the primary activities entail wet chemistry, biochemistry of proteins, nucleic acids and sugars, methods of analysis, labeling and linking of macromolecules, fabricating micro- and nano-carriers for drugs and biological macropomecules.

Performance Traits: Interact and collaborate with team members to further the development of VaxDesign projects.

Qualifications
Knowledge and Skill Required: Ph.D. with 0-3 Years Experience, or M.S., Plus 2-5 Years Experience
