Group Tour Media, the premier travel information resource for professionals who plan group tours, is seeking an associate writer as an intern for spring and summer 2012 — and during the 2012-13 academic year. (Group Tour Media interns can be either part- or full-time.)
Group Tour Media [grouptour.com] publishes Group Tour Magazine, Student Group Tour magazine, Group Tour Spotlight e-magazine and related websites, online and print editorial products. The communications company is focused on conveying information between travel and tourism industry suppliers and professional travel planners.
Responsibilities
Duties
•Create written and other editorial content for Group Tour Media’s trade publications, websites and social media sites
•Develop and research story ideas
•Assist in related departmental assignments and special projects, as assigned
Requirements
Qualifications
•Current college student, preferably to return for at least one more semester and working on a bachelor’s degree in communications, English, journalism, multi-media journalism, writing or a related field; graduating students and graduate students can also be considered
•Proven ability to develop creative stories
•Excellent writing, research, communication, and organizational skills
•Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks on a tight schedule for multiple media platforms
•Strong computer skills
•Some awareness of travel industry matters (or a strong willingness to learn)
•Ability to work on multiple projects
•Multi-media and photography skills is a plus
