The Majesty Ballroom is a local rental space and catering company serving both business and private clients in Montclair, NJ and the surrounding towns within a ten mile radius. Established in 2011, the business has operated as a rental studio/ banquet hall and specializes in full-service catering and event planning for upscale events in the region. The business specializes in event management, event staff, a variety of cuisine for breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and appetizers, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage service, floral design, space design and decor, musicians and DJs, event equipment and furniture rentals, and other event services.
The intern will work closely with our Event Sales Account Executive in growing company revenues through prospecting and probing leads in the private, corporate, government, association sectors.
The Majesty Ballroom is a full-service event and meeting management company. We specialize in special events which include bridal showers, weddings, award banquets, corporate holiday parties, and much more.
Our main goal is to expand the role of the special events venue through offering monthly open houses and daily client tours to wedding and special event planners, businesses, civic groups, and others.
Another opportunity for growth being pursued is offering Majesty catering and party supplies for events occurring outside of the banquet hall.

o Keep a log of tasks completed and the time each task required
o Set weekly and monthly goals and track progress. Re-evaluate if needed.
o Keep an eye on hall presentation; if maintenance/décor is needed, notify manager
o Reply to e-mail and phone inquiries.
o Add all potential client information and correspondence notes to database.
o Follow up with clients by making contact within 24 hours of client’s request (during business hours).
o Monitor database and follow up with clients who need additional contact points.
o Determine potential customers’ needs and budgets to see if we could be a good match for them. Invite them to tour the facility.
o Schedule and give tours to potential clients. Confirm ALL appointments beforehand.
o Note scheduled appointments in online calendar. Notify other coordinators if you are not available at that time, and someone else needs to take the appointment.
o Attend open houses and promotional events at Majesty on weekends.
o Generate and maintain online social network connections. Compose and send out promotional material for various events held at Demers.
Client Liaison Duties
o Maintain contact with the client to make sure payments are delivered and questions and concerns are addressed. Return e-mail and phone inquiries in a timely manner.
o Maintain contact with the other Majesty coordinators to exchange client and schedule updates.
o Communicate to the staff instructions for handling your booked clients who drop by to make payments and potential clients who visit the hall in your absence.
o Make arrangements for food tasting and special décor consulting.

o Full Time/ Part Time Management Position that requires full flexibility, including the ability to work weekends and holidays and a varied schedule

o Must be proficient in general computer knowledge
o Candidates should be extremely creative, innovative, detail oriented and organized
o A thorough understanding of all levels of banquet service
