The Biostatistician I under direction of Chief Physician Scientist, Institute for Quality at Baylor, and
according to established policies and procedures, designs research studies, grant proposal, and
performs statistical and graphical analysis of data to measure clinical outcomes across Baylor
Health Care System (BHCS).
I. Help researchers develop appropriate study protocols. Advise on research questionnaires, data gathering techniques, and data reduction to decrease bias or error in data.
II. Develop and analyze variety of research data, perform statistical and graphical analysis; develop and distribute reports when necessary.
III. Provide statistical reviews of research papers and studies, maintain current knowledge of new developments in biostatistics, and practice by reviewing current literature, attending educational programs, and participating in activities of professional organizations.
IV. Develop and implement template for clinical data reporting to measure clinical and cost outcomes of care across BHCS.
V. Work with Clinical Data Management Staff to ensure valid, reliable, and accessible clinical data and a consistent data model for monitoring clinical care processes.
VI. Assist Chief Scientist and Research Staff of Institute for Quality at Baylor on assigned projects by coordinating project activities and working with BHCS Staff to achieve project goals.
