Description
SEC Rage is an online magazine that caters to the world of football and basketball, specifically of the Southeastern Conference. We provide breaking news, recruiting updates and insider information. SEC Rage also has an online radio show called SEC Rage Radio which airs at 9 PM CST Mondays-Thursdays. On the show, we mainly interview recruits and coaches. Some of our pasts guests include Nolan Richardson and Dale Brown.
The Broadcast Journalism intern will work closely with the PR/Media Relations Specialist. The intern will also be given a free membership to the SEC Rage website. This is an unpaid opportunity, but can be used for college credit. We review resumes and hire interns on a rolling basis. Our internships typically last about 6 weeks, but it can be adjusted to fit the intern’s schedule. If at the end of the internship SEC Rage is impressed with your work, you may be given the opportunity to continue working with SEC Rage.
Responsibilities
- Depending on the intern’s interest, serve as a panelist on the SEC Rage Radio program
- Conduct interviews with recruits and coaches
- Create videos for SEC Rage’s website
- Engage and participate in SEC Rage’s online message boards
- Write articles with your byline for SEC Rage’s website
- Promote SEC Rage on your campus
- Serve as SEC Rage’s liaison at your university
Requirements
- Access to computer and ability to work virtually is required
- Access to editing software
- Ability to think creatively and work independently
- Broadcast Journalism major (or related field)
- Freshman, Sophomore, Junior or Senior at an SEC university
