DescriptionAre you an experienced Business Analyst who wants to learn more about the technical side of insurance software? We are looking for business analysts to help transform our software and the services we provide. You will be part of a team building integrated business and information solutions from the initial steps of a client engagement through development and release.
Utilize significant business process and industry experience to interview clients and gather business requirements, which will be translated into functional specifications.
Develop an in-depth understanding of the core business functionality within our application/product suite. Recommend solutions which will leverage existing functionality to satisfy new client requirements.
Consult directly with clients, System Architects, Client Managers, Development staff and other Business Analysts as part of the design process. These solutions will be delivered in the form of functional specifications.
Conduct walkthroughs of all completed specifications with representatives from all interested areas (i.e. Development, Testing, Client management) to ensure the solution is complete and understood by all.
Take a lead role in discovery sessions to identify requirements and functionality gaps for both new and existing clients. This may include international travel to client sites.
Bachelors Degree is required, with emphasis in Computer Science, Math or related discipline.
Candidate must be a business professional with a minimum of 5 years in business analysis, consulting and/or software development experience in the Life, Disability Insurance, Defined Contribution or Employee Benefits industry.
Candidate must be a proven self-starter, capable of focusing simultaneously on multiple tasks.
Experience with the full software development lifecycle is required. Prior experience working within an agile development or extreme programming environment is considered a plus.
Prior knowledge and experience with relational databases is required. Prior experience with Oracle databases is a plus. Proficiency with SQL is a plus.
Experience with policy administration, including commissions, billing, claims, and premium calculations considered a plus.
User experience design and/or experience prototyping user interfaces with a wireframe tool is a plus.
LOMA certification is considered a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Willingness to travel up to 25% both domestically and internationally is required..
Experience with one or more of the following is considered a plus: Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, XML, Java, .NET, HTML
