BUSINESS UNIT OVERVIEWA segment of Tyco, Tyco Fire Protection Productsis a global leader in fire and life safety. We provide fire detection, sprinkler, suppression, special-hazard, and emergency communications solutions to customers in countries spanning six continents. JOB OVERVIEWThe intern will support the distribution network by directing the sales order process from end to end in a multi-distribution center environment. The intern will collaborate with the order management team to determine best order release and fulfillment cycles to support the business. This role communicates with the Customer Service Teams, Retail Customers, and Planning Scheduling to optimize Supply Chain efficiencies and cost.
Roles ResponsibilitiesCommunicate with customer service and drive ERP discipline to maintain order integrity and meet customer demands. Report sales order defects, define root cause and propose solutions for processes that prevent the organization from meeting or exceeding the service level commitment. Partner with warehouse personnel to resolve order flow issues and drive outbound performance. Revise current reports to better suit the needs of the business and order management, as well as, maintain and distribute established reports on a daily basis. Support Sr. Management with ad hoc reports and analysis on an as needed basis and be a source for data mining and analysis for projects.
- In pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Computer Science, or Industrial Engineering with expected graduation by Spring 2015.
Experience1-2 years' experience in ERP/WMS/TMS use. 1-2 years' experience with databases, SQL, Crystal Reports required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications. Advanced Excel and/or Access skills required. Crystal report writing (Business Objects) and/or SQL experience required.
Desired Skills and Competencies:Experience with Warehouse Management System required (Red Prairie preferred). Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills. Must be able to work in a cross functional and collaborative team. Ability to communicate in a timely, concise, accurate, and professional manner both verbally and in writing. Display exceptional communication and customer service skills in daily email, phone, and face to face interaction with client representatives and suppliers. Knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain concepts and application. Experience in Baan, Red Prairie and Lean Logistics systems preferred. Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean Process training preferred.
