The primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, tracking and reporting capital related projects for Central Office engineering as well as assist engineering disciplines as required maintaining file information and databases. Coordinate and track projects for replacement and or retirement of un-repairable equipment. Monitor and maintain the network infrastructure, coordinate capital material and work with labor forecasts; interface with field operations, procurement and accounting.
In addition, provide engineering assistance and be a point of contact for data information, answer or support field operations, local managers, tech supervisors or other personnel. Assist other departments and be assigned special projects as necessary. Complete engineering related projects/initiatives as directed by Engineering Managers. The individual should have knowledge of AC and DC power, voice transmission, IP, VoIP, routers, IPTV, servers, voice gateways, telecom software and be able to relate to vendor equipment from GenBand, Alcatel-Lucent, Metaswitch as well as other broadband and telecom suppliers.
Successful candidate must possess strong written, verbal and organizational skills, and be able to report and track engineering projects. The individual should have strong computer skills, (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access) as well as the ability to utilize in house Fixed Asset and Project Management modules as it relates to engineering projects
