Eight-week internships will give participants with a passion for social justice the opportunity to learn about the labor movement, and to work within the community to raise public awareness about our “Right to Organize” campaign. Will have to be able to stand for hours at a time, outside. Responsibilities will include campus and community mobilization and recruitment; interns will be talking to people from all walks of life and need to be able to move conversations while being a great listener.Responsibilities include: • Working on campaign based projects involving creation of blogs, videos, and presentations. • Using social media and/or digital photography to spread the campaign on a global platform. • Creating awareness amongst consumers by spreading information in the form of leafleting 15-17 hours per week. • Spend an additional 10-15 hours per week on campus and in your community raising public awareness about the campaign to get popular public support to strengthen the campaign.

Requirements
Qualifications: • Strong passion for social justice • Demonstrated leadership experience in a work or organizational environment desired • Highly effective verbal and written communication • Ability to communicate with diverse groups of people and move conversations with people you’ve just met • Experience in social media and networking (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, blogging, etc.) • Must be able to stand for long periods of time. • Interest in digital photography and video (creative types encouraged to apply!) • Ability to work independently, in one-on-one settings, and with a team • Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work 30 irregular hours each week; including weekends • Driver’s license and car required • Bilingual applicants encouraged to apply.
