DescriptionThe Good Neighboring Campaign works to support Asian immigrant families in the Greater Atlanta region to become active citizens in the United States by increasing access to information, developing capacity for civic engagement, and building civic accountability.
The Civic Leadership Program for Youth is designed to train children of Asian immigrants to become leaders in their communities who are catalysts for positive change. The Good Neighboring Campaign believes that youth, particularly those in immigrant families, can have powerful influences on their families and on their larger communities. By harnessing this potential through education, experience, and skill-building with a community of peers and mentors, we hope to solve problems faced by immigrant communities from within.
Intern will assist with all aspects service-learning leadership program for youth including recruitment, implementation, and evaluation.
Intern will have the opportunity to gain experiences working in an immigrant community, build wide range of skills, and learn the workings of a small grassroots NGO.
ResponsibilitiesInterest in working with Asian immigrant populations and youth
Good communication and organization skills
Flexibility to manage multiple projects
Requirements- Assist in recruitment and advertisement
- Coordinate monthly training sessions
- Mentor high-school youth
- Help youth leaders to develop and implement projects designed to engage others and create positive change in their communities
