Tyco's Advanced Research and Development Department is dedicated in identifying potential new abrupt technologies, which will enrich Tyco's product offering.
Sensor devices are the key to detecting hazardous conditions and providing personnel with appropriate alerts. One of the Advanced Research and Development Department's main goals is to develop innovative sensors having cost, power and performance advantages. The candidate will work with a primary research engineer on sensor characterization and control algorithms.
* Discuss with research engineers and understand the goal of the testing procedure.
* Set up the sensor test instrumentation for the appropriate tests through hardware configuration, writing software test procedures and instrumentation.
* In pursuit of a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science. Graduate students are preferred.
Desired Skills and Competencies:
* General engineering discipline including good documentation skills
* Data analysis skill using Microsoft Excel
* Basic knowledge of circuit design and construction
* Good understanding of a programming language and programming discipline, Labview efficiency is preferred.
* Problem solving skills
Assignment starts as soon as possible and will last through January 2015.
