Description

Undergraduate students interested in the Communications Internship will work with the Communications and Marketing Director to develop and organize media lists, submit letters-to-the-editor and be a liaison between PPSP and clients interested in sharing their stories. This is an office-based internship.

Responsibilities

Develop comprehensive media list of health and political bloggers in the PPSP service area including print, radio, TV and blogs. Work with Public Affairs, Development and Medical Services to create a story bank of clients wishing to share their stories. Scan media and identify letter-to-the-editor opportunities for submission. Identify ways to leverage current media service to support PPSP's communications work. Identify key reporters and bloggers in service area for PPSP to develop a relationship.

Requirements

Commitment to goals and mission of Planned Parenthood Shasta Pacific. Excellent communication skills- both written and oral. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as a team member. Interest in the legislative and electoral side of reproductive health issues.
