The Communications Internship at the Campaign for Americas Future (CAF) and Institute for America’s Future (IAF) provides an opportunity for a bright, energetic person to gain strategic communications experience while serving as part of a dynamic communications team working at the forefront of progressive politics. Primary projects for the communications intern will include assisting the media relations efforts at the Campaign for America’s Future. In addition, the intern will assist the Communications and Online Communications Departments with a variety of web and communications related projects. This internship reports to the Communications Director.
What You’ll Do
o Events –Prepare materials and assist with logistics for CAF/IAF events.
o Pitch Calls – Call reporters and bloggers to pitch stories, events and organizational leaders\
o Research – Conduct research on reporters, bloggers and outlets.
o Online Newsroom – Assist in maintaining and improving the newsroom section of CAF/IAF website.
o Meetings – Cover meetings and events and produce summaries to share with CAF staff.
o Support – Assist with front desk / receptionist responsibilities.

o Innovative and creative thinker who is a team player and a self-starter
o Strong analytical, problem-solver with good organizational skills
o Detail oriented and able to follow oral and written instructions
o Regular reader of mainstream, progressive, and online media outlets
o Passion for progressive causes
