Program Overview: Square U is a community created by the Marketing Programs Team at Square. Universities and colleges are the perfect places for technology and the community to intersect. The program was created to connect Square with your local community. Square U Representatives give a voice to the Square brand, empowering thousands of people to transform their businesses. Program Focus: Square is great for businesses and individuals alike. Anyone who sells a product or renders a service can benefit from Square. Simply put, Square puts people in business. Square U Reps design strategies to acquire new Square Users. Our Square U Reps craft and implement market strategies tailored to their local community. Managers work closely with Square U Reps to design and implement these strategies.

As a Square U Rep, you will: • Grow Square usage and activate new Square users in your community. • Develop a keen understanding of the Square brand and our long-term vision. • Manage relationships with event organizers and business leaders. • Work with Square’s Events Marketing Director to assess sponsorship opportunities for local events. • Interact with the local artists, musicians, food trucks, farmer’s market vendors, and other types of potential Square users. • Develop robust knowledge of the payments industry and learn about Square's position in the marketplace. • Collaborate with other Square U Reps to improve market strategies and create best practices. • Gain experience with new media marketing techniques. • Receive valuable one-on-one coaching from Square Managers. Pay: You will be paid a hourly rate of $7.25 or higher (depending on state wage laws). Square U Reps create their own schedule, and typically work 6-15 hours per week. Since you will work closely with Square U Managers, it's easy to adjust hours to fit your academic schedule. Square also grants regular bonuses to Square U Reps. Responsibilities

Here's a sample of what this all looks like: You hear about an upcoming craft fair nearby. Knowing that Square is perfect for craftsmen, you email the event coordinator and explore sponsorship opportunities for Square. You collaborate with Square U Managers to explore paid advertising options. If you receive the event organizer's endorsement, you will promote Square to attending vendors and help them become active Square users. You identify other aggregation points of potential Square Users, and work towards creating strategies to promote Square across verticals. You present Square at beauty schools, network with small business owners at Chamber of Commerce events, and host information sessions for those interested. All of these activities are centered around generating interest in Square and acquiring new users. You build relationships with local Square Merchants and gather valuable feedback on what works, and what doesn't. You might even pitch a Square success story to a local newspaper or community blog. Requirements

Requirements and Qualifications: • Freshman, sophomore or junior in an undergraduate program. • Prior experience in sales, marketing, or customer service. • Knowledge of surrounding local community. • Outgoing, motivated, and goal-oriented. • Strong communication skills. • Passion for Square.
