DescriptionOur mission is to shape conversations to have a higher impact on organizations, and people around the world. We are building a platform for people to constructively talk about social issues. The platform is also used by enterprises to foster creativity from all employees in their workplace.
This summer, Because will launch a community engagement effort aimed at highlighting the importance of giving everyone a voice and providing direct feedback to help solve problems, and Because’s role as a platform to do so. Through traditional community organizing and social media outreach, we will activate our supporters around spirited, but constructive debates.
The Community Outreach Intern will work with the Because staff to develop and implement a community organizing program designed to reach out to thousands of online commenters and compel them to use our platform.. This will involve maintaining and expanding our presence within companies, universities, advocacy groups, content providers, and investigating other outreach techniques to activate supporters.
Interns will be responsible for managing and reporting on various aspects of the program. Duties will include recruitment of users, platform demo, seeking content providers, recruiting companies.

Develop relationships with other bloggers, content providers, and
Communicate with the community via facebook, twitter, content commenting sections, by phone, and occasionally through events.
• Experience with social networking websites, especially facebook and twitter.
• Excellent communication and writing skills required.
• Reliable access to a computer.
• Willing to work flexible hours
• Outgoing, self-motivated and detail-oriented.
• Respectful of cultural differences and comfortable working in diverse groups.
• Ideal candidates will be creative problem solvers who are cool under pressure.
