IMPACT INTERNATIONAL PICTURES was founded in 2004 to focus on all elements of documentary, narrative, children’s television and contemporary art video production. We are devoted to the production, direction and cinematography of creative video and television projects. We have worked on produced projects for TV New Zealand, BBC, Apple, Sundance Channel, Art Basel, International Documentary Association, NPAK Center for Contemporary Art, Saturday Disney, Taylormade Media, University of California, Irvine and YachtAide. DOCUTHESIS is a division of Impact International Pictures and has created projects for the University of California Irvine, Stanford University, the University of Southern California and California State University, Fresno.
Responsibilities
We are looking for Creative Content Interns to join DocuThesis, our innovative, growing company.
The primary responsibility of the Creative Content Intern will be making short 1-10 minute documentary films on researchers at your University. Access to film equipment for this position is key, but almost anyone can make a DocuThesis. Most cell-phones record high-definition video these days! If you have a camera or can rent camera and lighting equipment from your University, even better.
On all projects, you will be working together with one other student, a Research Coordinator. While you will be head of directing, cinematography, and editing, they will focus on the interview and research itself, but collaboration is key. Feel free to put together a team if you have friends who know lighting, camera work, etc.
Work together to make a 1-5 minute DocuThesis. Make knowledge sexy! We want to increase the visibility of academia to show their innovations in research, their discoveries and their impact on society to cultivate funding, public awareness and future collaborations.
There is a lot of freedom to this job. You get back what you put in. Recognition will be given to the best DocuThesis made each month and a professional crew will come to your University to tape researcher from your project. You and the Research Coordinator will lead the team of professionals through another DocuThesis shoot, with all of the resources of a professional film crew.
