Description

The Criminal Law Internship Program (CLIP) is a fast paced, hands-on investigative internship program for undergraduate and graduate students. Intern Investigators spend at least 12 weeks at one of the most prestigious public defender offices in the nation. Our interns don’t just sit in the office all day copying files. Partnered together, they work directly with staff attorneys to complete various investigative tasks and zealously advocate for their clients.

Requirements

The Public Defender Service welcomes applicants from a variety of educational and professional backgrounds. Full-time and part-time (25-35 hrs/wk) internships are available. Internships may be completed for academic credit. New internship sessions start throughout the calendar year.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Sessions often fill quickly, so it is highly recommended that serious candidates submit their applications as early as possible. You MUST commit to a minimum of 12 weeks, unless given prior approval from the Internship Office. Regardless of full-time or part-time status, the first full week (40 hours) of each session is MANDATORY.

***At this time, we are only accepting internship applications through our online system. Please visit our website and look under the "Careers" tab for further information and instructions.***
