Reviews insurance policy documents for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established standards and enters data into a computerized database by performing the following essential duties.
Reviews insurance policy documents for accuracy, completeness, conformance to applicable standards; verifies broker data; confirms mathematical calculations; and establishes proper coding prior to data entry.
Using knowledge, judgment and experience, contacts issuing broker or develops tags as appropriate, i.e., exemption reports identifying errors or omissions, as appropriate. Determines whether brokers should be contacted by phone or written correspondence; writes letters with details of errors; e.g., batch total discrepancies, missing documents, duplicate filings and premium discrepancies. Accurately enters required data into computerized database.
Compares source document data with database reports to detect errors and ensure completeness and conformity with established policies and procedures. Ensures any needed corrections or changes are accomplished. Notifies Manager, Operations Supervisor or Senior Data Analysts when major errors are detected. As part of quality control efforts, may refer work to other Analysts for review. May perform monthly quality review of other Data Analysts? filings.
Answers broker questions relative to submission data requirements via phone or written correspondence. Researches questions that cannot be answered immediately or refers the matter to Manager, Operations Supervisor or Senior Data Analysts for appropriate response.
Ensures tags, i.e., exemption reports, are mailed to brokers in a timely manner. Responds to broker questions regarding tags. Monitors status until corrections are made or the required information provided.
As part of the Data Processing team, assists in processing other Data Analysts? back logged batches as needed.
Stays abreast of all changes affecting filings, including procedures, forms, coverage codes and stamping fees.
May be responsible for preparing and mailing monthly billing.
May be involved in special projects, i.e. training manual, tag revisions, system testing.
Ability to meet established production levels and quality review requirements.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to others inside and outside the organization.
Ability to use a 10-key calculator; add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure; and compute rate, ratio, and percent.
