Description
The Dance Teaching Assistant will support the classroom instructors in Art in Motion, a weeklong interdisciplinary dance and studio arts camp for students, ages 5 – 10. The camp will run July 8 – July 12, 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM. This is an unpaid opportunity with the possibility of college internship credits or Federal Work Study through participating colleges and universities.Responsibilities
Work directly with children aged 5-10 in an interdisciplinary arts classroom setting. Some Teaching Assistant responsibilities include gathering and preparing materials for class, giving students individual encouragement and technical assistance and escorting children throughout our building and Shadyside compound.Requirements
Potential candidates will be able to effectively manage a classroom of up to 20 students, work as a team member, be reliable, and have excellent communication and customer service skills. The assistant must have experience or education in dance genres including but not limited to jazz, tap, ballet and/or creative movement/performance art.Experience working with children and Act 33/34 are clearances required.
