Reports to: Development Team Location: Save The Bay Center, Providence, RI Dates: Summer 2013 – This internship is offered year round. Academic year preference given to students who can serve two semesters. Summary of Position: The position will serve as an assistant to the Development Team. The Development Intern will help support the day-to-day functioning of Save The Bay’s Development Team, assisting in duties related to membership development, donor engagement, events, and community outreach. The Development Intern will join a collaborative team in their active cultivation of supporters of Save The Bay. Primary responsibilities may include: • Fulfill acknowledgement mailings • Assist in new member outreach opportunities • Assist in membership renewal process • Assist in event logistics and operations • Provide other assistance to the Development Team as needed Compensation/Additional Requirements: Save The Bay Internships are unpaid, but are available for college credit. Save The Bay will work with your university to ensure that all steps are taken to fulfill any credit requirements. Intern must be available until early August 2012. Schedule will vary and will be set with the Development Team. This is a part time internship. All Save The Bay Interns are also required to work at the Save The Bay Swim. You will need to be available on Saturday, July 20 from 7 am to 2 pm. To Apply: Interested students are asked to submit a letter of intent (cover letter), internship application and resume. Requirements

Qualifications: • Must be an actively enrolled college student, recent graduate, or graduate student. • Grade point average of 2.75 or higher out of 4.0 • Computer experience (MS Office) • A positive attitude and ability to work in a team environment • Strong communication and phone skills • Must have ability to work independently and have initiative • Must have driver’s license Skills: • Excellent phone and interpersonal skills • Maintain professional demeanor on the telephone • Well-organized and efficient • Work well in a high-energy, fast paced environment • General office skills including proficiency with computers and the Internet (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Explorer).
