Using various mediums, including the SCS website, social media tools, including Shanel’s internationally selling book, Stilettos in the Kitchen: The Modern Girl’s Guide to Becoming a Domestic Goddess, Shanel shares her expertise on modern-day femininity and assists women in defining their womanhood and knowing their value -- inside and out.
The branding and operations team, which reports to the Vice President, is responsible for the creativity and operational aspects of the brand, which is exemplified in all of the public-facing marketing materials and insignia. They develop the company website, shanelcoopersykes.com, the logo, the campaigns, the style of customer service, the technology and everything else you can think of.

Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain relationships with hot and relevant blogs and other media publishers
• Seek out opportunities for awards and recognition
• Seek out opportunities for free press on major media publisher’s sites to drive traffic
• Write press releases and release them only via various press release sites
• Assist with managing content tone, style and language in various SCS published media to ensure alignment with endorsements
• Cultivate new relationship and opportunities for mentions, clippings, etc.
• Stay abreast on all relevant, local events for media personnel, authors, etc.
• Work as part of the team in a collaborative environment
• Execute tasks in a timely manner appropriate to industry etiquette

About You:
You have a genuine affinity to create stuff and you love seeing it come to life. You’re one of those people who get excited about new ideas and who knows how to collaborate with a team to bring the best ones to fruition. You think working on a project that empowers women worldwide is cool and you don’t mind working on a primarily women-driven team. You’ve checked out the website and social media links and you think you can make awesome creative contributions to the project and brand.
Here's what you need:
• ONE OR BOTH OF TWO:
o Life skills and experience at the level of a college degree in one or more of the following areas:
Computer science, web design, graphic design, web development (coding like PHP, ASP, MYSQL), marketing, product design, animation, visual arts, photography, set design, film, television production, social media, viral marketing, public relations, etc.
o A college degree. (Preferably within a technology, media or design focused major similar in nature to those areas listed directly above.)
• QUALITIES:
o You have an uncanny and highly exceptional ability to communicate through written word, with the eloquence of speech to match
o You have a positive attitude and work ethic, with good judgment and intuition.
o You are punctual, detail oriented, organized
o You’re a team player and a self-starter
o You are self-reliant, mobile, and able to be resourceful on a whim.
o You are ingenious, quick-witted and fast on your feet, good with directions and instructions, as well as finding your own way
o You have the ability to multitask and excel in a face paced environment, without sacrificing efficiency and thorough work
o You are flexible and operate well under pressure; ready and able to take on the rapidly changing world of social innovation and culture
o You have keen listening skills with the ability to anticipate and address future needs
o You have a good handle on all of the relevant technologies of your field and talent. (For example, if you’re a creative designer, you know the full Adobe CS5 Suite.)
o You’re a Godsend. After working with you, the words “I don’t know what I’d do without you” easily fall out of people’s mouths.
• TOOLS:
o You have a working and well functioning laptop computer that’s up to date and is loaded with appropriate software for you to get your work done.
o You have a mobile phone.
o You carry a sketchpad and pen around with you like it’s your life in your back pocket or purse. (Smiles. Not necessarily required, but this is the level of dedication and passion we’d like you to have about whatever it is that you do.)
