Description

Department: Discovery Camp Position Summary: Discovery Camp is a summer day camp held at The Franklin Institute Science Museum. Children grades Pre-K - 8 are able to come to The Franklin Institute and participate in hands-on activities, visit exhibits and theaters, enjoy presentations by guest scientists and other professionals, and continue the science explorations they begin at the Institute on field trips related to the theme of the session. Intern will be asked to: • Plan art activities that relate to each session’s theme • Teach art activities to each age group • Coordinate supplies relating to art projects • Work in coordination with camp staff to arrange times to be in the classroom Educational Requirements: Must have an interest and background in art education. Special Skills Required: Must be able to work independently and have experience working with children grades Pre-K - 8. Schedule Requirements: Must be available at least 2 days per week M-F during the summer.
