Description

The Early Stages Program, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that bridges the gap between New York City's world class performing arts community and its underserved public school children. Each year, Early Stages reaches over 15,000 students (K-12th) from the City's diverse population. We are looking for interns who love theater and understand our mission to make New York's cultural world available to as many of the City's young people as possible. In addition to gaining valuable experience interning for an arts nonprofit, interns will have the opportunity to see live theater shows for free. The hours are flexible, one to two days a week with opportunity for growth. Class credit will be given wherever possible. We strongly encourage students interested in the performing arts, nonprofit management, and education to apply. Responsibilities

Interns will assist the office staff with various administrative tasks, including but not limited to: Assist greeting students at the theater Editing online student reviews Researching pertinent topics Compiling demographic information Updating office manuals and documents Developing and distributing promotional material

Requirements

Ideal Interns: Have excellent phone and "people" skills Have computers, internet, and Microsoft Office knowledge (specifically Excel and Word) Have strong organizational skills and logic Are detailed oriented Have knowledge about social media outlets such as facebook and twitter Knowledge of donor perfect, a plus
