Responsibilities
The editorial assistant will support client demand through the creation of articles, press releases, marketing collateral, letters, resumes, optimized LinkedIn profiles, e-newsletters and other communication products for magazines, corporate and individual clients. The editorial assistant will also assist in interviewing sources, conducting editorial research, fact-checking, proofing and editing. Finally, the editorial intern will assist in social media efforts and general office management for an emerging new media venture. Interns will leave with a wealth of hands-on experience, a variety of writing samples for their portfolios, recommendation letters, polished resume, cover letter and LinkedIn profile, plus insider knowledge on career branding and strategies for making money from writing.
Requirements
The editorial assistant must have superior writing, research and customer service skills, plus flawless phone etiquette. Must have superb ability to communicate professionally via e-mail. Must be detail-oriented, and familiar with Microsoft Word.
Preferred Spanish-speaking and writing skills, and proficiency using Excel, Publisher, GoogleDocs, and WordPress.
