Mercury Radio Arts is Glenn Beck's fully integrated production and media company. It features Mr. Beck's third highest-rated radio show; books authored by Beck and others, live stageshows and TheBlaze TV.
Glenn Beck and TheBlaze are looking for an Editorial Intern to become a key junior member of our Dallas office. TheBlaze prides itself on an actively managed internship program where our trainees made important contributions to our site and learn a wide range of skills necessary to succeed in digital and broadcast media. We are looking for driven candidates who embrace their enthusiasm of media and are excited to be challenged in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment.
Responsibilities
Daily responsibilities will include (though not be limited to):
1. Assisting editors with a number of individualized projects including fact-checking articles, developing content, reporting, editing, engaging community, pitching stories and posting content
2. Corresponding with readers and sources
3. Pulling, analyzing and reviewing website analytics
Requirements
All applicants should possess excellent writing and communications skills, have a sharp eye for detail, and should be interested in pursuing a career in journalism or some related field. The ideal candidate:
1. Demonstrates exemplary editing and research skills
2. Is highly organized and deadline oriented
3. Has a deep understanding of current events and digital media
4. Is incredibly proactive, able to anticipate needs of editors and fellow contributors
5. Is unafraid to ask for help or clarity on tasks
