Description

Independent media group Frank151 seeks editorial interns for our New York City office. Working closely with our editorial team, you’ll utilize your fluency in global urban culture to create original and unvarnished written content for frank151.com.

About Frank151
Frank151 Media Group, LLC is an internationally recognized, independent content creation and distribution company with headquarters in New York City and satellite offices in Los Angeles and Tokyo.

The Frank Book is our pocket-sized quarterly publication. Every chapter of the Frank Book is helmed by a special guest curator and focuses on a unique editorial theme. Distributed to audiences in major metropolitan cities around the globe, you can find the Frank Book available for free through our proprietary, elite network in New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Seoul, Sydney, Johannesburg, London, Paris, Barcelona, Berlin, Amsterdam, and Copenhagen.

Responsibilities

As interns are given considerable editorial responsibility and focus largely on penning short news posts and longer features, we are looking for individuals who are excited about uncovering untold stories and can generate strong ideas.

You’ll be expected to pitch story ideas to our team that canvas a broad spectrum of topics relevant to our global audience—from previous Frank subjects Ricky Powell and MF Doom, to pixacao (check Frank: Chapter 50 if you’re unsure what that is) and beyond.

Requirements

To apply for this unpaid internship, email your resume and three of your best clips to marisa@frank151.com with the subject line “Editorial internship” by February 8, 2013. And because you’ll write better clips on subjects that you’re actually interested in, let us know if you have specific knowledge of art, music, style or whatever it is that you’re into.
