DescriptiongenerationBOSS is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing the youth with better role models by providing social recognition for the many accomplishments of young adults who represent the belief that a successful prosperous lifestyle can be attained through the pursuit of higher education. generationBOSS designs and presents a variety of events intended to:
1. Increase student participation by improving the way the youth view and experience education
2. Encourage the youth and young adults to consider careers outside of the entertainment industry
3. Establish a platform where young adults can showcase their success through education, network and garner community support

This internship although unpaid will provide you with valuable work experiences that can be transferred to future positions. This is an opportunity for you to apply your classroom knowledge and gain a competitive edge in the job market while networking with other professionals. Course credit may be arranged with your college or university. This is a business casual environment with flexible hours. A minimum of 20 hours per week and interns are required to have computer access. Must have reliable transportation to attend events and programs in the DMV area when required.

Responsibilities•Draft, publish and monitor original work for our genBOSS newsletters and updating the blog with fresh, cutting edge news regarding current events and other material relevant to genBOSS;
•Search the web daily to locate news articles and other information sources of interest to our diverse audience of high school students, college students and graduates;
•Maintain Facebook, Twitter, and other social networking profiles;
•Select and create profile summaries for potential genBOSS partnerships;
•Coordinate and update website with online marketing, advertising and campaigns;
•Research for special editorial projects.
RequirementsIntern will be expected to work well independently and be a self-starter, but will report to the Director of Public Relations. All candidates should meet the following requirements:
•Looking for a college sophomore, junior or senior currently majoring in, Journalism, English, Public Relations, Communications or any relevant majors that foster strong writing, drafting and editing skills;
•Demonstrate time management, organizational skills, leadership, and sophisticated interpersonal skills with supervisors, employees and other interns;
•Currently enrolled at a 4 year university; student must be in good standing with the university;
•2.5 GPA or above.
