Create and coordinate centralized and decentralized staff development programs, performance improvement initiatives and special projects for the Department of Ambulatory Services.
Coordinate global clinic patient flow and staffing allocation for patient care departments.
Act as clinical expert and consultant for nursing (direct patient care) functions within the department and assigned work groups.
Designs, Impements, Coordinates and Evaluates educational programs for clinical and non-clinical staff.
Mentors and Develops staff to assist with employee orientation and program implementation.
Manages special projects and perfromance improvement initiatives for the department.
Coordinates Joint Commission continuous readiness initiatives for department.
Provides nursing consultation and expertise to individual clinics and ancillary departments to facilitate clinical operations and patient care.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Required for complete satisfactory performance in this job is a broad knowledge of: nursing functions, patient care activities within the outpatient setting, patient care policies and procedures, clinical outpatient staff competencies, quality improvement concepts and regulatory agency requirements.
Required for complete satisfactory performance in this job is the ability to manage diverse clinical and non-clinical projects, develop plans that assists an individual’s staff development, group facilitation and presentation skills. Strong interpersonal communication and leadership skills are required. Strong skills using office related software is required. Quick adaptation to clinical situations and fast learning of clinical equipment operation is essential.
The formal education normally associated with complete satisfactory performance in this job is a bachelor’s degree in nursing. A minimum of 3 years clinical nursing experience is required. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the State of Texas Board of Nurse Examiners is required. Some leadership experience is preferred. Professional specialty certification in nursing is preferred.
