City Lit Theater Company is seeking interns to assist our Education Program Director with our upcoming “Real Live Literature Program.” We are looking for 2 - 4 interns to join us at Carter G. Woodson School at 4444 S. Evans Avenue on the following dates from about 1:30pm - 3:30pm: Tuesday, February 19th Tuesday, February 26th Tuesday, March 5th Tuesday, March 12th Tuesday, March 19th

Responsibilities

We will be working with two groups, one very large group of second graders and one group of third graders. Each group will perform their interpretation of a certain text; the second graders will perform "Where is the Sears Tower," and the third graders will perform "The Lorax." Interns must be available to work all 5 workshops at the elementary school. Interns will participate in introductions, theater games, character work, costume making, rehearsals, and performances for each class. Interns also agree to submit an assessment of their work to Educational Program Director, Katy Nielsen, upon completion of the program. At the completion of the program, interns may audition for a paid position on our Teaching Artist team. To apply, e-mail your resume and cover letter to internships@citylit.org.
