Description

The Education Outreach Intern will be involved in all aspects of our education programs. This will include but is not limited to: leading field trips at our center, giving private tours, presenting to schools and other community groups, supervising birthday parties, and manning booths at community events. They will also be responsible for helping with animal care tasks as needed, including cleaning enclosures, diet preparation and bottle-feeding orphaned babies. This position is unpaid and no housing is provided. Schedules are flexible but you must commit to at least 8 hours per week. You must attend the intern orientation on Saturday, May 25 from 1-3 pm. Responsibilities

Education duties such as leading presentations for groups, private tours, public tours and special events. In your down time you will also help with animal care and cleaning duties such as, animal intakes, exams, medication administration, vaccinations, animal weight checks, feeding of adult and baby wildlife, rescues, releases, and more. You will learn all aspects of wildlife education and care at a rehabilitation center and train under experienced staff.

Requirements

No previous animal care experience necessary but applicants must have great public speaking skills. Applicants must be comfortable in a fast paced environment, be able to work independently and with others well, be in good physical condition and be working towards a degree in a related field.
