Action for Boston Community Development is Boston's antipoverty agency, serving more than 100,000 low-income Greater Boston residents through its city-wide network of neighborhood-based organizations. ABCD provides innovative, timely programs that promote upward mobility and a higher quality of life for people and communities.

Responsibilities

Help Seniors Live with Dignity and Independence in Optimum Health and Well Being

Action for Boston Community Development, Inc.’s (ABCD) Elder Services department
includes intergenerational programs and senior services to help empower older citizens
to prevent illness and disability and maintain optimum well-being.

Programs include:
• Foster Grandparents
• SHINE
• Fall Prevention
• STAY STRONG (Healthy Aging Initiative)
• Access to Benefits
• Elder Affordable Housing

We are currently seeking ELDER SERVICES INTERNS to assist the Director
and staff in foundation prospecting, grant writing, program evaluation, best
practices research, outreach, marketing assistance and with administrative support.
As the baby boom generation ages and the number of older adults with chronic
health conditions and mobility impairments increases in Boston, interns can help
make a difference.

Requirements

Undergraduate or Graduate student. All majors welcome.
