We have an exciting opportunity in our brand new headquarter in Melville, New York. You will join a team of experienced engineers who are responsible for Canon USA original application development. In this role you will work with the engineers to help analyze issues, conduct feasibility studies, investigate potential solution opportunities, develop prototypes and participate in the development of state-of-the-art office and business software solutions with a wide variety of emerging technologies such as Cloud, Mobile, PKI, Smart Card, and Security.
The terms of the internship will be 1000 hours with an anticipated start of Jan. or Feb. 2014. There is a flexible schedule during the school semester: You may work 20 hours per week between the hours of 9-5 during school and complete your internship at 35 hours per week during the summer.Responsibilities:
- Work in a team environment with CIIS engineers
- Investigate new technologies and new solutions.
- Develop prototype applications
- Conduct feasibility studies
- Perform test
- Help develop office solutions
- Hands on experience on Java or C#
- You should be in your junior year of college with the ability to commute to Melville NY on a daily basis
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of software development and object-oriented programming.
- Eagerness to learn new technologies and new concepts
- Any knowledge of the following is preferred:
Cloud API (REST, SOAP)
Mobile development (iOS, Android, BlackBerry, Windows Phone)
Smart card (CAC, PIV, .Net)
PKI (Public Key Infrastructure), secure email
TCP/IP, LDAP, SMB
Kerberos, NTLM, SSO
