Clean New York, the premiere environmental health advocacy organization in New York State, seeks articulate, dedicated, enthusiastic individuals to join our team. Help us protect people and communities from toxic chemicals while building a healthy and green economy. Our work has resulted in the phase out of the toxic chemical BPA from baby bottles and sippy cups, and we have co-authored numerous reports on chemicals that have been found in products and people.
Applicants need not live/attend school in Schenectady to apply - an independently motivated person could work from anywhere within New York.
Responsibilities
Job duties may include:
• Preparing communication materials for the media, policy makers and the general public;
• Conducting research on emerging environmental health topics;
• Assisting with implementation of legislative advancement;
• Giving presentations and disseminating materials to organizations and the general public; and
• Designing and writing content for websites.
Requirements
We seek interns with strong communications skills, especially writing. The ability to manipulate websites (or do website development) is a significant advantage.
