This job requisition is for an Equipment Development Engineer Intern within the Assembly Test Capital Equipment Development (ATCED) group. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for equipment development projects for assembly test in support of Intel's CPU, chipset, and communication product roadmaps. The development process requires the definition of technical, schedule and quality requirements, supplier and project management, qualification test definition and execution, and transfer to high volume manufacturing (HVM). Responsibilities may be of diverse technical nature. Education requirements will vary significantly depending on the unique needs of the job. Assignments are usually for the summer and/or part-time during school year prior to graduation.
Additional project responsibilities may also include the following:
-Defines and establishes flow, procedures, and equipment configuration for the module.
-Selects and develops material and equipment for the process to meet quality, reliability, cost, yield, productivity and manufacturability requirements.
-Plans and conducts experiments to fully characterize the process throughout the development cycle.
-Drives improvements on quality, reliability, cost, yield, process stability/capability, productivity and safety/ergonomic over variables such as material, method, equipment, environment and operating personnel.
-Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education, statistical knowledge, and problem-solving tools.
-Establishes process control systems for the process module and sustains the module through volume ramp.
-Develops strategy to resolve difficult problems and establishes systems to deal with these problems in the future.
-Transfers process to high volume manufacturing and provide support in new factory start-up as well as install and qualification of the new production lines.
-Interfaces with internal organizations such as Sort Test Technology Development (STTD), Assembly Test Manufacturing (ATM), commodity management team as well as external suppliers.
Candidates must have the unrestricted right to work in the US without requiring sponsorship.
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
Additional Qualifications Include:
- Basic Knowledge of Design of Experiments, Statistics, Process Flows
- Thermal Engineering
- Basic understanding of signal integrity
- Equipment Development or experience from Fab, Assembly and Test would be an added advantage
- Experience in supply chain management or direct engagement with suppliers
Preferred Qualifications Include:
-Ability to work part time during school year, full time during summer and holidays until graduation is a plus factor.
-Results oriented and able to work both independently and as part of a team
-Ability to understand and streamline technical and business processes
-Ability to think creatively and identify new solutions to a variety of problems
-Strong written and verbal communication skills (internal/external), team skills, and ability to influence
-Comfortable with high levels of ambiguity and a strong vision of future technology trends as they relate to test tooling technologies
-A high level of personal initiative is required upon receiving management guidance and direction
-Strong sense of team work, customer orientation, quality and discipline
-Ability to work with customers to define requirements and analyze business processes
-Experience working across geographies is a plus
-Formal project management training; PMP would be an added advantage
