SuperSibs!, a national nonprofit organization that recognizes, honors, and supports siblings of pediatric cancer patients, is seeking an Event
Planning Intern to commit to 12-15 hours/week from January through mid-May. As the Special Event Intern, you will assist with planning and
execution of a special event in May of 2013. The ideal SuperSibs! candidate has a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills,
leadership and the ability to work independently, as well as interest in our mission to support siblings and their families through a cancer
diagnosis. We welcome fresh ideas to help us achieve our objectives.
The SuperSibs! headquarters is open Monday through Friday from 9am-5:00pm. Interns are expected to work during business hours and
commit to a consistent, weekly schedule for the duration of the internship. Some evenings may be required.
All intern positions at SuperSibs! are UNPAID. Students will learn valuable leadership and team building skills while working at a national
nonprofit organization. SuperSibs! offers a collaborative, creative environment in a small office setting. Email resume, cover letter, and writing

Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
The intern will assist with all aspects of event planning. Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Negotiation and planning with outside vendors including hotel, photographers, etc.
• Leading a committee of volunteers to work behind the scenes to plan the event.
• Oversee gathering of donations for event and resulting inventory and management of donations.
• Communication with vendors, donors, attendees and volunteers.
• Plan and execute design, printing and distribution of invitations.
• With input from staff and volunteers, plan event program, schedule, timetable, assignments, etc.
• On-site management and oversight the day of event.
•Participate in weekly staff meetings, programming meetings, etc.
•Performing administrative duties as necessary
