Description
The Events and Marketing Intern works with IECRM staff to carry out administrative tasks, write and send internal and external email communications, assist with marketing tasks, and assist with planning events. The ideal person for this role should be able to multi-task in an office environment, complete tasks on time with minimal errors, record and summarize meeting minutes, and perform web-based competitive research for the aid of the operations department.
Established in 1981, the Independent Electrical Contractors Rocky Mountain (IECRM) is Colorado’s premier non-profit trade association, representing nearly 200 independent contractors and industry businesses. As Colorado’s largest energy workforce training institution, IECRM teaches over 600 aspiring electricians annually, offers continuing education courses, and provides certification. IECRM is dedicated to supporting, educating, and promoting tomorrow’s energy contractors.
IECRM, located in Denver, Colorado, is a chapter of the national organization Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC), a trade association for merit shop electrical and systems contractors.
Responsibilities
• Answers the phone and routes incoming calls
• Assists with filing
• Attends staff meetings and records minutes
• Writes and sends internal emails (such as Staff Meeting Notes)
• Assists in preparing and sending external email campaigns about IECRM classes and events
• Assists in sourcing venues for upcoming events, scheduling planning meetings, making follow-up correspondence, and planning event timelines and details
• Performs web-based competitive research on website/marketing/PR actions of competitor organizations
Requirements
• Should be available to work 10-20 hours a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, though these days are negotiable
• Strong writing and editing skills preferred
• Must be comfortable using Microsoft Office programs
• Must be comfortable with email and the Internet
• Must be able to work independently
• Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task
