Description
NLLC is a Baltimore-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to empower youth ages 16-25 through leadership development. Our focus is on providing training and networking opportunities for young leaders. NLLC is currently recruiting motivated individuals to fill vacant positions in our headquarters office in Baltimore, Maryland. The ideal candidate is able to contribute to a young and dynamic organization.The Executive Assistant provides administrative support to the President and performs administrative tasks that support the overall operation of the organization.
Responsibilities
Maintain the President’s calendar, including scheduling in-person and phone meetings, making travel arrangements and/or reservations? Accompany President or represent NLLC at various meetings
? Take notes from staff meetings and disseminate to appropriate staff members
? Copy, print, and compile materials as needed for President’s meetings
? Assist with organizational meetings and special events as needed
? Screens incoming calls and correspondence and responds independently when possible
? Record and disseminate general mailbox phone and email messages to appropriate staff or board member
? Handle responses to correspondence and publication requests.
? Assist in grants management, including member gift processing and acknowledgments, data entry, and file maintenance.
? Accurately maintain organizational files
o Membership information
o Executive committee agendas and minutes
o Board agendas and minutes
? Perform clerical responsibilities including copying, faxing, running errands, etc.
? Work on a variety of special projects such as: organizing community meetings for Youth Empowerment Movement Initiative, compiling reports, and assisting NLLC staff with outreach.
? Assist with maintaining membership and event management database
? Purchase and maintain sufficient inventory of office supplies within budget
? Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities? Some college completed or an associate degree in business or a related field
? Friendly and professional demeanor
? Well-organized and self-motivated
? Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
? Excellent attention to detail
? Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, Publisher, Internet Browsers)
? Communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of an organization
? Ability to handle multiple tasks
