The Alzheimer’s Association is looking for a fall communications intern who is highly motivated and ready to take advantage of this unique opportunity for real-world experience. Responsibilities
Activities related to and supporting the Alzheimer’s Association goal of increasing concern and awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias including:
• Creating and maintaining media contact lists.
• Monitoring and recording media coverage.
• Promoting local events through community calendars.
• Completing various writing assignments.
• Supporting the Association’s presence on various social media platforms.
• Updating marketing materials.
• Other projects as assigned.
Requirements
The qualified applicant will enjoy working with both internal and external audiences in a fast-paced, team environment. He/she will demonstrate a strong understanding of communications and be able to meet deadlines and work independently. The successful candidate will possess a positive and professional demeanor. An undergraduate student currently majoring in marketing, communications or public relations will excel in this position. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. Candidates should have experience in using social media and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Quark and/or Microsoft Publisher is preferred.
