DescriptionThe Feminist Majority Foundation offers internships throughout the year in our Los Angeles, CA office. Interns are an essential part of the Feminist Majority Foundation office and perform a wide variety of responsibilities, including monitoring press conferences and coalition meetings, researching information, attending rallies, and organizing events. Each intern works closely with a staff member in order to learn directly from hands on experience and to contribute to substantive projects. All who are interested, including graduate and undergraduate students, are encouraged to apply.
Interns in our Los Angeles, CA office have the opportunity to work in one or more of the following areas:
Research Associate - Assist with major research projects on a range of feminist topics and special projects.
Choices Campus Leadership Program- Work with FMF's campus staff to launch pro-choice student groups on college campuses nationwide and conduct outreach to women's studies programs.
National Clinic Access Project- Be a part of the nation's largest and oldest clinic defense team. Research and collect data on anti-abortion violence directed at health care workers and patients; monitor anti-abortion websites and literature.
Girls Learn International - Work with FMF’s Girls Learn International program staff to launch GLI Chapters on high schools and middle schools in the U.S. and to identify new Partner Schools abroad. Conduct research and help develop new human rights based curriculum for the program.
ResponsibilitiesUnfortunately, the internship is unpaid. If your school has internship funding, we’re happy to work with them in whatever way necessary. And if you need have a part-time job during the internship, we work hard to accommodate your schedule — we just ask for a minimum commitment of 3 days/week.
