The Finance Assistant Intern will assist the Controller and CFO in the Finance Department of a non-profit organization.
ResponsibilitiesThe Finance Assistant Intern will assist the Controller and CFO with daily accounting functions, general and ad hoc reporting, research items as needed, assist in closing monthly accounting books and assist in implementing and documenting improved procedures and processes. The Intern will also assist with miscellaneous projects that arise daily, weekly, monthly, etc. The Intern will be able to aid in preparation for annual audit.
Requirements• Working towards either a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business.
• General knowledge of accounting fundamentals, GAAP and a willingness to learn accounting/finance within a Non-Profit agency.
• Software used: 2011 Enterprise QuickBooks Non-Profit, SQL Query, Excel 2007 (currently running Office 2007 programs). Experience in Excel is required.
