Description
The Fitness Specialist Intern will work in the award winning ManateeChoice Health Plan at the YourChoice Fitness Center. The intern will be under direction of the Fitness Coordinator. The intern will gain experience in health education, fitness, nutrition, weight loss, corporate wellness and special populations including (but not limited to) Diabetes, Bariatrics and Cardiac Health. The Fitness Specialist intern will perform fitness testing with exercise prescription and have an opportunity to work within locations in Manatee County. In addition the Fitness Specialist Intern will be responsible for administrative work relating to membership data, program registration, marketing and program outcomes.
Responsibilities
Administration & Customer Service at the YourChoice Fitness Center
Fitness Training and/or Group Instruction (if qualified)
Fitness Testing and Exercise Prescription
Worksite Wellness Initiatives and Programming
Special Projects as related to interns interests/goals
Requirements
Current undergraduate or graduate student in an Exercise Science or Health Education related field(s)
