DescriptionDevelops, manages, evaluates, advises and provides policy/programmatic oversight for the Defense Forensics and Biometrics Agency (DFBA) related to forensic processes and capabilities. Works with joint partners to develop and integrate forensic related policies throughout the DOD and Joint/Interagency communities. Is expected to assist in the development and application of an organizational vision for the integration of forensic capabilities and processes across applicable stakeholders from DOD, Joint Staff, Army staff, and inter-agency. Supports DFBA leadership as a subject matter expert (SME) to develop and integrate forensic capabilities from concept to approval.
May be required to develop and present briefs while representing leadership at meetings and conferences.
Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree and a minimum five (5) years working experience is required. The selected individual must have experience working with and briefing senior military officers.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must be able to apply analytical capabilities to develop and periodically review/update information papers, executive summaries (EXSUM), classification guides, C-IED Implementation Plans in support of Presidential Policy as well as subject matter handbooks to include Weapons Technical Intelligence (WIT), Biometrics, and Forensics. The ideal candidate must be able to work with minimal guidance and provide detailed, quality products utilizing a broad range of software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point to support senior officers at DOD, COCOM, or Joint level staffs. Must be familiar with Forensic concepts, capabilities, policy and be able to effectively communicate related information. Working knowledge of the strategic applications of DNA, serology, firearms and tool marks, latent prints, questioned documents, drug chemistry, and trace materials for policy development, dissemination, and promulgation is strongly desired.
