The range of investment solutions includes target date investing funds, active allocation strategies, managed accounts, financial planning frameworks and custom solutions.
GAA’s Fundamental Research team consists of 25 Analysts and Associates in Boston, Massachusetts and 9 Research Associates and Specialists in Bangalore, India. The Fundamental Team is organized into sleeves that include US Equity, International Equity, Fixed Income, and Alternatives. To support GAA investment solutions, the Fundamental Research Team monitors over 2,400 Fidelity and non-Fidelity funds and actively researches over 1,000 mutual funds and sub-advisers.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Research, the Fundamental Research Associate will support the Research Analysts on the fundamental team to identify the most compelling investment disciplines and portfolio managers. The position is located at the company’s headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts.
Assist the Research Analysts in the manager research process, providing support to the analysts in making buy/sell/hold recommendations on mutual funds and institutional strategies
Assist the Research Analysts with asset class projects and thematic research in their respective investment areas of coverage
Work with the Research Analysts to publish monthly/quarterly performance, risk and positioning reports for funds across the peer groups
Gather critical data to monitor tactical and strategic positions held across the various asset allocation strategies
Prepare for and attend meetings with Fidelity and non-Fidelity mutual fund managers
Monitor the investment universe in order to identify potential new investment opportunities that will directly impact portfolio recommendations and client investment returns
Support the Research Analysts with ad hoc analysis on specific mutual funds, fund complexes and other team-based projects
Strong knowledge of and interest in both the mutual fund industry and the stock market
Outstanding quantitative skills with the ability to comprehend complex market statistics
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required
Willingness and desire to travel in order to visit mutual fund managers
Ability and confidence to work effectively in both independent and group settings
Capability to manage a variety of tasks simultaneously with superior organizational skills
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Candidates should have a strong academic record and 1-3 years of relevant work experience. Progress towards a CFA credential or a Masters degree is preferred
