DescriptionOne of our top clients in the Boston Metro Area is seeking a Network Support Specialist.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: Provide support for the organization at end user desktops and over the LAN/WAN to ensure their integrity and stability. Support the Network Manager and end users in a networked Microsoft Windows environment. Assist Network Manager to ensure desktop system and network stability and integrity.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Provide support to local and remote PC users, investigating and resolving software and hardware problems, implementing installations of PC's, peripherals or other hardware and software on the organization's networks and maintaining current editions of software patches.
2.Install and configure PC equipment and software. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network and printing problems. Maintain an adequate level of knowledge of operating systems, software applications and common hardware being used by the organization to provide high level support to users. Install all software updates and patches on client workstations.
3.Provide for the safekeeping of equipment, supplies and other information technology or sensitive data assets by adhering to applicable policies and applying common sense.
4.Ensure that backup, recovery and security procedures are established and performed as planned for all critical data and in compliance with security and business continuity policies.
5.Train and support end users of Windows 2000/XP, MS Office, loan & platform automation software.
6.Provide backup support for network administration, server administration and telephone systems.
7.Respond to internal Help Desk requests, including responding to software problem calls on site and over the phone for users. Investigates error messages and determines resolution.
9.Participate in special projects and community activities, as needed.
10.Adhere to all applicable policies, procedures and regulations.
11.Stay current on job related equipment, procedures and information via attendance at meetings and seminars and reading technology related publications.
12.Ensure that all software licenses are maintained.
13.Perform all other related duties as required to accomplish the objectives of the organization.
