Bring your talents to an organization making your nation stronger everyday. The IRS’s work funds America, and our dedicated employees make it all possible. You’ll be challenged, supported and will enjoy work-life balance. The IRS is one of the largest financial institutions in the world with one of the most well-trained workforces anywhere. While working at the IRS, you may choose to explore a career path offering unexpected and exciting opportunities – such as analyst positions, jobs in the technical field, management positions or a career as an IRS executive. Where you go is up to you.

Responsibilities

As part of IRS's Exempt Organizations (EO) Academic Institutions initiative, two or three graduate student interns interested in nonprofit management or policy will work in the IRS exempt organizations office as 2013 summer interns. Interns will have a unique opportunity to see how tax-exempt organizations handle their tax responsibilities. The graduate student internship program will broaden our reach to interact with a new generation of non-profit leaders. EO hopes to gain a better understanding of current non-profit education while offering students the chance to deepen their knowledge base and become familiar with Federal tax provisions that govern exempt organizations.
