DescriptionIT Business Analyst
The qualified IT Analyst will:
: Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, source code analysis, requirements workshops, observing system behavior, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
: Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
: Deliver Functional requirements (derived in part from the Business Requirements Document) and Use Cases.
: Work independently with Product Management and Software Engineering team to define concepts.
: Strong analytical and product management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
: Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
: Serves as the conduit between the Product Management team and the software development team through which requirements flow.
: Develop requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language.
Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or related field experience
: 7+ years prior experience required as an IT Business Analyst / Systems Analyst
: Have a demonstrated acumen for working at a very technical level
: Experience with Relational database technologies. Able to create or read SQL
: Strong knowledge of programming languages and tools such as Java, XML, SQL, etc. (Required)
: Some experience reading Java source code highly desired
: Proficient with common web browsers
: Experience with reading XML
: Experience with use cases and activity diagrams
: Strong research and technical analysis skills; including the ability to effectively review, analyze, translate and document business needs into technical and user requirements; possess knowledge and understanding of business systems development/design and full life cycle application development process
: Strong decision making skills including solid knowledge and experience with data flow process/procedures/systems
: Solid knowledge and understanding of project planning/project leadership
Strong organization skills including effectively handling multiple assignments and leading multiple projects/initiatives simultaneously and prioritizing work effectively
: Strong self motivation, business acumen, customer service, consulting and interpersonal/ relationship development skills
: Strong ability to work independently and manage one's time (Required)
: Ability to function within ambiguity and help bring clarity and/or resolution to complex situations/issues
: Strong oral/written communication skills including presenting ideas and technical/business information and collaborating effectively with personnel at all level including technical and non-technical staff, vendors, clients and various levels of management from various departments
