Job Description This internship is for the fall 2014 semester with possible extension to spring 2015.
Responsible for providing first level support for internal users across the PC and local area network platforms. Responsible for cataloging, maintaining, and assigning work order requests to second level support personnel as appropriate. Functions as the primary and central point of contact between IT and the end user community to provide prompt and on-going status updates of end user open requests.   Primary Duties:      1. Provide the initial point of contact for all end user requests.    2. Provide Help Desk support for the PC/LAN end user community for basic/intermediate level support issues including but not limited to network printing, login, boot up and hardware problems.    3. Analyze and interpret user requests logging into call log database all pertinent information to ensure prompt and effective handling by second level support personnel.    4. Establish priority, assign to send level support personnel as needed, and coordinate the scheduling of all incoming end user requests.    5. Provide on-going open communications with the end user to keep them informed as to the status of their request.    6. Configure and set up all new computers including all software and deploy to end user at the direction of Supervisor.    7. Install software and software upgrades as required.    8. Provide additional administrative and technical support as required by management. Job Requirements Education:  AS Degree in Computer Science or actively pursuing IT related degree.   Special Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.  Minimum 1 year experience in PC/LAN (Windows) environment in support role is preferred. Must display logical problem solving skills to effectively analyze and resolve end user requests. Good written skills are essential. Additional Company Information
