Internship Summary:
The American Cancer Society, Illinois Division, has an exciting internship opportunity available in our Income Development department. The Income Development Intern will primarily help plan and execute our signature event, Relay for Life. Responsibilities include: helping to plan monthly team captain and committee meetings; implement marketing and advertising in targeted communities; contact local service organizations; coordinate volunteers; help recruit new volunteers; develop and distribute press releases for newspapers, church bulletins etc.
This is an upaid internship
Requirements
Undergraduate college students must meet the following application criteria:
*Course work: Business, Communication, or PR
•Full-time student, having completed their freshman year of college;
•Have a minimum of a B Average (cumulative 3.0 on a 4.0 scale);
•Participate in the Illinois Division Student Internship program as part of a bona-fide college program that either provides college credit or fulfills a graduation or coursework requirement (such as required field experience);
•Plan to continue their education in the following term/semester
•Note: an internship assignment may coincide with a student’s last term/semester, however the student is required to disengage upon graduation.
Graduate students must meet the following application criteria:
•Full-time graduate student;
•Have a minimum of a B Average (cumulative 3.0 on a 4.0 scale)
•Participate in the Illinois Division Student Internship program as part of a bona-fide college program that either provides college credit or fulfills a graduation or coursework requirement (such as required field experience);
•Plan to continue their education in the following term/semester
