DescriptionJob Scope may include time and motion studies, equipment capacity modeling, layout design, analytics, project management, data management and analysis, simulation, data management and analysis. Job assignments are usually for the summer or for short periods during breaks from school.
The candidate must be currently enrolled in a undergraduate program and working towards a BS degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
The ideal candidate should evidence strong critical and analytical thinking as well as the ability to employ creative solutions to complex problems. Excellent communication skills required.
Preferred qualifications include knowledge of simulation, data visualization, database management and scripting languages, Excel, SQL database;
Qualifications for various potential projects:
Develop business processes to simplify strategic capacity model by standardizing product characteristics - business process mapping, script writing, data quality validation
Factory space analytics - interest in factory layout design, equipment install design, good understanding of AutoCAD, project management skills
Production cost modeling during technology development - cost accounting understanding, data system integration, system project management, understanding of BOM's
Informatics Visualization - visualization/Business Intelligence interest; data mining; database management
Labor Modeling - ops research, simulation
Automate equipment run rate validations - writing scripts in VB
Complete a Six Sigma Green Belt project on a tool capacity improvement project - statistics analysis in JMP, time studies, equipment capacity modeling/simulation, constrain identification
